Commision On Status of Women 54th session, parallel event on violence against women in politics
SAP - International organized parallel event on Violence Against Women in Politics (VAWIP) on 6th March 2010 at New York, USA to share the perspective of VAWIP in South Asia and discuss the relevance of addressing the issues in context to the challenges and hindrances for women to engage meaningfully in political decision making. Ms. Chandni Joshi, Vice Chair Person, SAP-International, Dr. Rohit Kumar Nepali, Executive director, SAP-International, Ms. Sapana Pradhan Malla, VAWIP Advisory Group Member and Constituent Assembly member, Nepal, Dr. Pam Rajput, Executive Director, Women's Resource and Advocacy Centre Vice President, National Alliance of Women (NAWO), India , Dr. Mahmuda Islam, Board Member, SAP International, Bangladesh and Ms. Aarifa, Pakistan were the speakers during the event. Advocating for proposing a new general recommendation by incorporating clause on VAWIP based on CEDAW framework was the main agenda of the event.
Celebration of international women's day
